ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WIVB) - Rochester City Schools will start rolling out a free condom program in their schools Monday.
The district will offer every high school student access to condoms but parents can opt-out if they are opposed to the idea.
Rochester schools reported 1,000 teenage pregnancies in the district in 2010.
To obtain the condoms the students must report to health clinics at one of four high schools: Franklin, Marshall, Edison or East. If students agree to counseling and not to sell condoms, among other terms, they will have access to condoms.
