BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - The New York Thruway Authority has again postponed its decision on a 45 percent toll hike for commercial trucks.
The delay has provoked a stinging response from Authority Vice Chair Donna Luh, who says the Authority is lacking in transparency. She's reconsidering her support for a toll hike, which critics say will further slam the brakes on a slow economic recovery.
"Now that we've canceled one meeting after the other and this and that and you're thinking, 'Look, I have to vote on this and this is going to affect a lot of people.' And if we're not voting, meeting here, meeting there, I would have a hard time at this point voting for 45 percent," Luh said.
The Vice Chair questions the urgency of voting a toll hike when the Authority keeps kicking the can down the road.
