War hero laid to rest near Rochester

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WIVB) - A former Niagara University student who died overseas has been laid to rest.

Friends and loved ones attended a funeral for 23-year-old Private First Class Theodore Glende on Saturday near Rochester. Glende's unit came under attack in Afghanistan last week. He died when the he threw himself into harm's way to save his fellow soldiers.

He leaves behind his wife, whom he married just three months ago.
