Buffalo’s bravest had a tough battle overnight. Fire fighters fought flames throughout the night at six separate buildings.
Rescuers were first called to a fire around 11:30pm Saturday. A building on High near Timon Street suffered $25-thousand damage.
A home on Memorial Drive is considered a total loss after a fire began a little after midnight. Crews were called to the scene with reports that people were trapped inside. Luckily, everyone inside the home escaped without injury. At least one firefighter was injured at the fire. Damage is estimated at $75-thousand.
Just after 3am, fire personnel were called to a blaze on Sycamore Street near Rother Avenue. A building there is slated for emergency demolition, investigators estimated damages at $50-thousand.
A vacant house burned on James Street near Lord Street just before 3:30am. The flames scorched an attached building on East Eagle Street where one person escaped without injury. Damage to the vacant building is about $40-thousand and damages to the home on East Eagle are pegged at $20-thousand.
Just fifteen minutes later, fire destroyed a vacant house on Cornelia Street near South Division Street. The building collapsed not too long after crews arrived. Damages are set at $40-thousand. Two other buildings were also damaged, one on Cornelia Street and another on Fillmore.
Around 3:45am fire fighters were called to a sixth fire on
Monroe Street. The vacant home near Clinton Street is slated for
emergency demolition. Damage is set at $40-thousand.
