NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WIVB) - New concerns have emerged from the Love Canal era.
A report on Friday in the Niagara Gazette says a chemical compound recently discovered in nearby LaSalle neighborhood of Niagara Falls is linked to the Love Canal contamination. The city says the DEC is reporting no threat to residents so far.
In 1978, a federal emergency was declared at Love Canal and close to a thousand families were relocated after buried toxic chemicals began to surface.
