NORTH TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) - A new county van will help more than a thousand senior citizens get around North Tonawanda.
The city and county are working together to bring the free service to the North Tonawanda Senior Center. The van will give seniors rides at no additional cost to taxpayers.
North Tonawanda Mayor Robert Ortt said, "This van is going to allow them to get groceries, run basic errands, get food, and it's a critical services to our seniors, which is a big demographic in North Tonawanda."
The van will also provide service for several disabled residents who are not members of the North Tonawanda Senior Center.
