NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WIVB) - The SPCA serving Niagara County says a court ruling took a big weight off its shoulders.
On Wednesday, a judge dismissed a case against the society's board of directors.
The suit claimed the election of a new board of directors along with changes to bylaws and membership rules that were improper.
The new board came in amid allegations of animal abuse, and the dismissal of Director John Faso.
The SPCA now wants to refocus on its main task-taking care of its animals.
Bryan Barish. the SPCA's President said, "It's absolutely wonderful. We can now once again focus on the mission we've been appointed to, of taking care of all these guys, helping the shelter, and create its positive image that we've so successfully started."
Amy Lewis is serving as Interim Executive Director. The court ruling also allows the SPCA to search for someone to fill that position, long-term.
