NORTH TONAWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) - More help from western New York is on the way to the downstate disaster zone.
Members of the Generation Church spent Thursday night collecting everything from new pillows and blankets to batteries and baby items for victims of Superstorm Sandy.
Rev. Chad Rieselman said, "We've got a ton of people just donating some wonderful stuff. All of our fuel has been taken care of by donors right here in North Tonawanda. So we're well suited to fill this truck and as many trucks as we can to take to people who have lost everything."
Ten people from the church will leave for Long Island on Monday. Until then, they'll continue to collect donations.
Church members will be on hand Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Budwey's in North Tonawanda, Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Tops on Niagara Falls Boulevard and Robinson, and Sunday from 12 p.m. tp 4 p.m. at the Generation Church at 1001 East Robinson Street.
