RANSOMVILLE, N.Y. (WIVB) - Parents packed a Tuesday night board meeting at Stevenson Elementary School in Ransomville, which is in danger of closing next year.
School leaders say Wilson has lost almost 150 students in less than five years and a lot of painful cost-cutting measures are on the table.
Board President Tim Kropp said, "We're looking at this consolidation not only to help on the financial end but to create smaller classrooms, balanced classrooms and different advantages for our teachers."
If Stevenson closed, there would be one elementary school left in the Wilson School District.
