Elderly man killed by falling tree

GASPORT, N.Y. (WIVB) - An elderly man was killed Thursday night after the tree he was cutting down fell on top of him.

Eighty-eight-year-old Melvin Nichols died at the scene on Wheeler Road in Gasport, says Niagara County Sheriff James Voutour. Nichols' death has been ruled an accident.
