NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WIVB) - After serving in the Navy for seven years, Dustin Douglas came back home to Niagara Falls and wanted to do something to give back to the community.

He thought what better way to do that then to open a restaurant and feed people. So he purchased the old Around The Clock Cafe, which had special meaning to him.

"My dad actually worked for Anthony Gugino, which was the original owner of Around The Clock. We were sitting around the kitchen one day and he said, "Why don't you try to get the old Around The Clock? That is a nice place."" So we got this place. It has a lot of memories to the entire community," explained Douglas.

Douglas wants to pay homage to his home, so the walls of the new Over Dose Cafe are decorated with old pictures of Niagara Falls as kind of a reminder to the way it was and drive to bring that back. Visitors will also soon be seeing decorations to honor others who serve Niagara Falls. Douglas said he wants to give back to them as well.

"What we do is we offer a lot of discounts to people who give back to the community. I.E. the fireman, the policeman, and all the government employees," he said.

For breakfast, the cafe's specialty is a 14-inch, over-the-plate pancake. Douglas says it is the equivalent of 10 regular pancakes. One of the grills they will use was purchased in the auction at Earl's Drive-In in Chaffee.

For lunch and dinner, if you have a big stomach they have a one pound burger available and a two-foot long hot dog.
