LOCKPORT, N.Y. (WIVB) - Genesee Street has a whole new look in Lockport.
Thursday's ribbon cutting ceremony marked the completion of Lockport Canal Homes, which are managed by Housing Visions. The 18-month project features nine new and reconstructed buildings with housing units for 30 local families.
Resident Donna Lehan said, "It's beautiful. There rooms are big. Lots of storage room. Everything is brand new."
Director of Development for Housing Visions Ben Lockwood said, "People that need safe, decent, affordable housing. Hard working families that need a good place to live. So we're happy to provide that."
The apartments are offered to qualifying low- to moderate-income families.
