WHEATFIELD, N.Y. (WIVB) - A new vet has taken over for now at the embattled SPCA of Niagara County.
Dr. Peter Freyburger will be on staff temporarily. This comes after the recent hiring of Amy Lewis, who is the facility's new interim executive director. As a long-time Erie County SPCA employee working under Barbara Carr, Lewis was tapped to help turn things around at the shelter.
Former director John Faso was fired after a scathing report painted a disturbing picture about suspected animal abuse at the facility.
