LEWISTON, N.Y. (WIVB) - After 13 years at the helm, the president of Niagara University is stepping down.
Father Joseph Levesque will leave at the end of the academic year. He became the university's 25th president back in 2000.
Father Levesque said, "Looking at my life, I had accomplish a great deal. I know I'm aging, and I know it's time to bring in some young blood, some new people, some new ideas. I think I'm innovative, but I know there are many others who are innovative."
He says he will still have an active roll at the university. The board of trustees has created a transition committee to find the next president.
