Wallenda revisits site of historic walk

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WIVB) - After visiting Niagara Falls, Ontario, Nik Wallenda stopped by Niagara Falls USA on Thursday.

The daredevil met with State Senator George Maziarz and Assemblyman John Ceretto on the American side. Both lawmakers played a crucial role in getting Wallenda the state approval to make the walk over the Horseshoe Falls on a tightrope.

On Thursday, Wallenda was honored on the Canadian side of the Falls. He even had his footprints embedded in concrete for a display at the daredevils museum. The tightrope walker is considering opening a daredevil museum of his own on this side of the Falls.

"You know, there's a piece of my heart here. I said it from day one after that walk, there's a piece of me that will be here forever," Wallenda said. "There's no question that when I come here there's a connection and there was since I was 6-years-old and the first time I visited."

Wallenda says his next network contract will not force him to wear a tether when he walks overtop the Grand Canyon.
