WARREN, P.A. (WIVB) - A Jamestown man is missing after his kayak capsized on the Allegheny River in Warren County, PA.

Jacob William Maynard, 32, was with three other people, kayaking down the river, when his vessel capsized Saturday around 5:30 p.m. and he went under water. Conewango Township Police say witnesses and Maynard's friends called 911 as they began searching the water. Rescue crews arrived and assisted.

Despite five fire departments, two fire police departments, the fish commission, a dive team, and a state police boat equipped with sonar, crews were unable to find Maynard and were forced to cease the search at midnight when it became too dark to continue. But crews were back at it seven hours later.

However, after searching until 6 p.m. Sunday, Maynard remains missing.
