BATH, N.Y. (WIVB) - Police in Steuben County arrested a man who was allegedly drunk when he stole a riding lawn mower and took it on a joy ride.
Troopers in Bath were told to be on the lookout for a stolen Craftsman riding lawn mower. State Police say they spotted 28-year-old George Barkley driving the mower down Liberty Street in the village. Barkley was charged with DWI with a BAC of .10 percent and second degree aggaravated unlicensed operation.
State Police say Barkley also had two active warrants out for his arrest in Corning.
Barkley was taken to the Steuben County Jail on $1,000 bail.
