WHEATLAND, N.Y. (AP) - A 22-year-old New York man who fell off the roof of a moving car last weekend has died of his injuries.
The Monroe County Sheriff's Office tells local media outlets that Orry Dowdell of Wheatland was in a car early Saturday morning with four other men when he climbed onto the roof and fell off on Route 26 in his hometown, located 10 miles southwest of Rochester.
He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, where he later died.
Deputies say Dowdell was traveling with four other men and riding in the back seat when for some reason he climbed out the window and onto the roof.
Police say no charges will be filed against the driver of the car.
Deputies are still investigating.
