Roch. woman starts "snuggling" business

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WIVB) - A simple hug can mean the world to someone who's feeling blue. So a Rochester woman has decided to start her own business with that in mind.

Jackie Samuel owns "The Snuggery." She charges clients $60 an hour to, well, snuggle.

The 29-year-old University of Rochester grad launched the business last month saying there's a market for people who are looking for relaxation and physical comfort - but don't get the wrong idea!

"This is not about sex; I am really straightforward about that. I thought I need to kind of validate my position. I need some kind of certification or license to show I am a qualified cuddler, but I couldn't find anybody else who was doing what I was doing so I just decided to start," Samuel said.

She thinks there's a growing need for her service as more studies show we need to relax more and cuddling can lower blood pressure. But she doesn't have a lot of clients yet, so she is still selling real estate.
