BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - The families of Flight 3407 fear they may have to start all over again.
The FAA Authorization Bill and its tougher training standards for pilots will expire if Congress doesn't finish the conference bill by the July 4th break. Flight 3407 families have been lobbying hard for the bill since the tragedy in Clarence last year.
Robin Tolsma, who lost her husband, said, "Our loved ones were so close to being home. And it's so close to passing, that I don't want this bill to crash and burn before it gets on President Obama's desk, just like 3407 did. This has to pass. It's not about us anymore. It's about anybody who buys a ticket and flies on a regional airline."
The FAA Bill now in jeopardy, would require all regional airline pilots to undergo 800 hours of flight training.
