BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Antoine Thompson has conceded in the race for the 60th State Senate seat.
Senator Antoine Thompson has conceded the race to Republican opponent Mark Grisanti, exactly four weeks after Election Day.
Going into Tuesday Grisanti was up 527 votes. It has been a long drawn-out recount involving attorneys from the republican and democratic parties.
In his concession statement, Senator Thompson said, “I thank the residents of the 60th Senatorial District for allowing me to serve them for four years - a duty that I took very seriously and an experience for which I am extremely grateful. I thank the many community partners who I’ve had the pleasure of working with side-by-side for a better 60th District. Together, we accomplished monumental successes in the areas of economic development, education and the environment.”
