FAA issues new air safety guidelines

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WIVB) - New air safety guidelines are taking effect in the wake of the Flight 3407 tragedy.

The FAA issued new information for operators, consisting of guidelines to address cockpit distraction. Airlines are being urged to conduct crew training programs and create a safety culture. Pilot distraction has long been named a factor in the Clarence Center tragedy. The NTSB ruled pilot error as the cause of the crash.
