Future of Williamsville village unknown

VILLAGE OF WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. (WIVB) - What does the future hold for the village of Williamsville?

A citizens group gathered to release the findings of a study on dissolving the village in to the town of Amherst.

Government downsizing and combined services have become increasingly popular in other communities in Western New York and nation wide.

Williamsville residents are trying to determine if following suit would be the right move.

UB professor, Victor Paquet conducted the study, addressing big issues like services and taxes.

Victor Paquet said, "I think they're here to get a better understanding of what the costs of village government are, and also an understanding as to what these services here in the village are, compared to the town of Amherst."
