ALBANY, N.Y. (WIVB) - Governor David Paterson will not resign.
A spokeswoman for the governor is disputing rumors after reports of an upcoming "bombshell" story in the New York Times. Speculation is swirling about Paterson's personal conduct as he considers seeking election later this year. He calls the accusations an attack on his character. When he replaced Eliot Spitzer, Paterson came clean about an extra-marital affair.
Paterson's popularity went into a tailspin following his proposed cuts and tax hikes to battle the state's fiscal crisis.
