ALBANY, N.Y. (WIVB) - The Buffalo News reports the governor is threatening to keep lawmakers in Albany for the Thanksgiving holiday unless they act quickly on trimming the $3.2 billion deficit.
This comes after last week's lawmaker sessions went nowhere.
"The report issued by Comptroller Dinapoli on Friday shows a cash crunch. Showing we are out of money. We are unable to meet our obligations, that we'll have to start shortening up on payments to schools and local pension funds if we don't act now," said Paterson.
Governor Paterson says unless the deficit is tackled, the state may not be able to pay its bills.
