BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Customer issues with frequent flier miles have New York's Senior US Senator on the attack.
Senator Charles Schumer says regulations need to be in place to require airlines to keep their travel reward promises.
He also wants to ensure that they disclose all of their restrictions.
Schumer said, "These are not just free gifts; people earn them. They either earn them through their credit cards, or earn them through paying a lot of money to the airlines to fly around. So this galling idea that these are free, free benefits and can be taken back at will is just false."
Senator Schumer says there are too many consumer complaints that the airlines are not honoring free travel requests.
