BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - A Western New York state senator is facing a challenge on Saturday.
Democratic Erie County Legislator Tim Kennedy announced Friday night at the Iron Workers Hall in West Seneca that he's running for office in the 58th district.
If he's elected, Kennedy would represent Cheektowaga, West Seneca, Hamburg, Eden, Lackawanna and parts of Buffalo.
"This is about us, the Western New York family, being bullied by Albany. And we're not going to take it anymore," exclaimed Kennedy.
He will join former common council staffer Mike Kuzma as challengers in the Democratic primary.
Democrat William Stachowski has held this Senate seat in the 58th district since 1981.
