BRANT, N.Y. (WIVB) - Voters in two more western New York communities will cast their ballots in the dissolution debate, Tuesday.

It has been a controversial issue in every community that takes up the vote to get rid of their village government.

Kevin Gaughan and fellow small-government advocates were dealt twin defeats last month when voters in Williamsville and Sloan rejected measures that would have dissolved their village governments.

He'll be hoping for a different result, as Erie County's smallest village takes up the dissolution issue.

About three hundred people live in the village of Farnham within the Town of Brant, and Gaughan says that's too few to justify the extra layer of village government.

Down in Allegany County, the Village of Cuba and its 1,500 residents are dealing with the same issue.

Opponents of both resolutions contend that dissolution wouldn't save enough money to be worth losing the character of the village.

The vote in Farnham and Cuba runs from noon until 9 p.m. and News 4 will have the complete results, Tuesday night.
