Gingrich plans Friday Buffalo rally

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich is scheduled to appear at a western New York rally later this week with developer Carl Paladino, a former candidate for New York governor.

Paladino says Tuesday the rally is meant to counter what he says is candidate Mitt Romney's negative ad campaign against Gingrich and Rick Santorum.

Paladino lost the 2010 governor's race to Andrew Cuomo after campaigning on a "mad as hell" theme.

Friday's rally is set for 12:15 p.m. at a downtown Buffalo office building owned by Paladino.
