BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - The Seneca Nation has hired former Buffalo Mayor Anthony Masiello's lobbying firm to block a constitutional amendment that could bring competing casinos to western New York.

The nation is trying to protect the gambling compact that gave the Seneca's exclusive rights to casino gambling in 14 counties of western New York. The move comes after Governor Andrew Cuomo's State of the State address, where he made it clear he was looking at the possibility of legalizing commercial casinos across the state.
