RANDOLPH, N.Y. (WIVB) - While hearing about less snow is a good thing, the travel advisory remains in effect Thursday morning for the Town of Randolph in Cattarugus County.
Residents have spent almost a full week shoveling, just to keep up with the lake effect machine.
Randolph resident Jim Mruk said, "I know it's one thing to get into the Christmas spirit, but this is a bit too much spirit too quick."
That's pretty much the consensus around the Town of Randolph in Cattarugus County, where snowfall totals are hovering around four feet since Sunday.
Resident Samantha Dilallo said, "I've never seen snow like this before, not in such a short period of time."
The slippery roads mean plenty of overtime for tow truck companies, like "Anytime Towing."
Tom says he's averaging 25 cars a day since the snow began.
Tom of Anytime Towing said, "Nasty, lots of snow, lot's of ice, slippery roads."
Randolph officials say digging out from all of this snow is going to carry a hefty price tag, upwards of $300,000.
And that's a problem, because last summer's tornado depleted the town's emergency fund.
Randolph Town Clerk Lori Milliman said, "There is no money left in the reserves."
Milliman said, "We're just having a tough time keeping up with things."
