CHERRY CREEK, N.Y. (WIVB) - Firefighters from at least six departments were on the scene of a fire at the Cockaigne Ski Center in Cherry Creek Monday evening.
The Post-Journal reports the fire began around 10:30 p.m. Pictures from viewers show an extensive fire. A video submitted by Shawn Sweatmen shows the lodge being ravaged by flames as multiple companies respond. The Main Lodge at Cockaigne is the 1964 Austrian Pavilion from the 1964-65 New York World's Fair. Sweatman tells News 4 the Main Lodge is a total loss.
The fire continued well into Tuesday morning .
