CUBA, N.Y. (WIVB) - The owner of a horse and about a half dozen cats in the Village of Cuba in Allegany County died a few weeks ago at the age of 47, leaving no one behind to care for her animals.

When neighbors found out the animals were all alone, they stepped in to help. But none of them has the money or the time to take over on a full-time basis.

Neighbor Harry Wasyl said, "I called Channel 4 to see if they could help out here and you know, people seem to listen, you know and... I know there are a lot of animal lovers out there that would probably help, somehow."

If you'd like help, neighbors say you should contact the SPCA Serving Allegany County at 585-593-2200.
