JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (WIVB) - A fallen war hero from Jamestown is being honored in Georgia.

A barracks at Fort Benning now bears the name of Staff Sergeant James Matteson. He was killed in action during the battle for Fallujah in November of 2004. Staff Sergeant Matteson graduated from Southwestern Central School in 1998.

He was one of six service members who had military buildings named in their honor at the Georgia base.
