HANOVER, N.Y. (WIVB) - Tom's Family Restaurant in the Town of Hanover was heavily damaged when an elderly driver lost control of their vehicle on Tuesday.
Chautauqua County Sheriff's deputies say the man hit the building at Rt. 5 and 20 around 11:15 a.m. while trying to enter a parking space. No one inside the restaurant was injured, but both the elderly male driver and his elderly female passenger were taken to Lakeshore Hospital for observation.
There is no word on the damage estimate to Tom's. The restaurant was closed for repairs on Tuesday but staff tells News 4 they will be open Wednesday morning. No matter the damage cost, the staff at Tom's says they're just thankful no one was injured.
The driver's vehicle was also damaged in the crash.
