GOWANDA, N.Y. (WIVB) - The Gowanda Fire Department honored a 9-year-old boy whose cool headedness helped save his friends and family from a recent fire in their home.
Justice Lee was sleeping in his basement bedroom when he awoke to find it filling with smoke. He ran upstairs, turning on lights and rousing his friends and family members and got them safely evacuated. The fire department was able to keep the flames contained to the basement.
Justice had taken part in the Fire Prevention Course given by firefighter Kathy Camp each year at Gowanda Schools. In the image with this story, his mom, fire company president Nick Crassi, and firefighter Kathy Camp were present when Justice was given an award to honor his bravery.
