Holiday Valley tests new snow system

ELLICOTTVILLE, N.Y. (WIVB) - Some people may not be ready for snow, but for skiers and snowboarders, the white stuff can't fall fast enough.

Snow makers at Holiday Valley Resort in Ellicottville were letting the flurries fly for a few hours Wednesday while testing a new computerized system. It takes the guess work out of man-made snow by allowing the snow guns to turn on automatically the minute it gets cold enough to make flakes.

Holiday Valley is targeting November 23rd, the day after Thanksgiving for an opening date, but it may be moved back to the first week of December if temperatures are mild.
