JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (AP) - Police say they don't expect to file charges against the driver of a car that fatally struck a 5-year-old girl whose sled ended up in a western New York street.

Authorities in Jamestown tell local media outlets that Isabella Stanford was sledding on a hill close to a street Friday evening when her sled entered an intersection, where she was hit by the car.

She was taken to a hospital, where she died.

Police say the driver had no time to react when the girl entered the street.

Investigators are looking into whether there was any parental supervision for the girl and four other young children she was sledding with at the time of the accident.

Isabella was a kindergartner at Milton J. Fletcher Elementary School in Jamestown.
