SHERMAN, N.Y. (WIVB) - A snowmobile hit a house on the southern tier on Thursday after the rider was ejected.
Charles Shaffer of Portland, NY was riding his SkiDoo Northbound on Trail S 48 in Sherman around noon when he says his throttle got stuck. While attempting to bring his snowmobile to a stop, Shaffer hit a snow pile and was thrown. The snowmobile continued through a parking lot, crossed Kendrick Street, and hit a home, where it finally stopped.
Neither Shaffer or the home's occupants were hurt. Chautauqua County Sheriff's deputies ticketed Shaffer for driving a snowmobile without insurance.
