ASHVILLE, N.Y. (WIVB) - A hundred people will be losing their jobs sooner than they thought at a food plant in the southern tier.

The State Labor Department now says the AFA Plant in Ashville will shut down on Wednesday, a few weeks ahead of the scheduled October date. The bankrupt plant produced the controversial "pink slime" food additive in ground beef.

A lot of restaurants and supermarket chains recently stopped using it.
