RUSHFORD, N.Y. (WIVB) - A man is dead after an early morning crash in Allegany County.
State Police say the driver of a pickup towing a dual-axle trailer loaded with watermelons lost control on Route 243 in Rushford around 6 a.m. on Friday, crossing into the path of a Ford Escort driving by 49-year-old Tommy Coen, Jr. of Angelica. Coen was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the pickup and the passenger were treated at Olean General Hospital and released. Police have not released their names.
Authorities say their investigation continues.
