Trucker dead after southern tier crash

POMFRET, N.Y. (WIVB) - A Canadian trucker is dead after a crash along the NYS Thruway in the Town of Pomfret Wednesday night.
State Police say around 7:00 p.m. on the eastbound I-90, 63-year-old John Odell of Niagara Falls, Ontario drifted from the right lane across the right shoulder and struck a delineator, continuing through a culvert and coming to a rest inside the tree line.
Odell was pronounced dead at the scene. No other vehicles where involved in the crash, and the cause is under investigation.
