ALFRED, N.Y. (WIVB) - College students are not very happy with Albany Friday night.

About two hundred students and faculty members rallied at Alfred State College Friday against Governor David Paterson's budget.

The state legislature voted earlier this week to use 90 percent of The State University of New York's tuition hike to plug budget holes elsewhere.

Alfred State University Chair of College Council Patricia Fogerty said, "In many ways it's a double taxation on our students. Their families are paying the taxes. Now they're paying higher tuition to offset a budget deficit throughout the state."

Many SUNY administrators say the cuts from Albany will force them to cut faculty and increase class sizes.
