ANGOLA, N.Y. (WIVB) - The New Angola Theatre became the latest battleground in a campaign to shrink the size of government in western New York.

Dozens of people packed the theatre Thursday night for a downsizing debate between regionalism advocate and Buffalo attorney Kevin Gaughan and author and researcher Craig Bucki.

Gaughan is a strong supporter of shrinking government in the region.

He is currently campaigning for passage of referendums to downsize the town boards in Evans and West Seneca.

Bucki is against decreasing the size of the Evans Town Board.

He is the author of Regionalism Revisted – The Effort to Streamline Governance in Buffalo and Erie County, New York.

The referendums in Evans will take place on Wednesday, June 3rd from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the usual voting locations.
