BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - The Buffalo Philharmonic tapped into a major television hit and had it's first "Dancing with the Buffalo Stars" on Valentine's Day.

News 4's Victoria Hong was honored to be one of the stars.

The competition was fierce.

There were four - Janet Snyder of Kiss 98.5, Rob Lucas of Star 102.5, former Buffalo Mayor Anthony Masiello and Victoria.

They were each paired with a professional dancer, and had to perform three dances, which they had barely a week to learn.

On opening night, they were all a ball of nerves. Victoria, for one, was hoping for a broken leg before her turn.

Tony Masiello apparently lightly tread on his instructor's toes a few times, figuratively speaking.

It wasn't just ego and pride driving them all. The winner got a thousand dollars towards his or her charity.

Victoria's partner Bobby had done the best he could with her.

It was then showtime. Conductor Robert Franz was ready for the couples.

Rob and Kat raised the bar with their flawless first performance.

Tony and Carrie really played into the audience, getting applause and laughs.

The only thing stronger than Tommy and Janet were her six-pack abs.

Victoria, on the other hand, had no time to think of physique.
