BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - There's a new social networking website that's getting western New Yorkers together.
Social networking sites have been the craze of the Internet over the past few years with Facebook, MySpace and now Twitter.
But now many communities are making their own social sites to get people together with similar interests.
RoamingBuffaloes.com is a social networking site focused on getting Buffalonians together to enjoy outdoor activities, weekend trips and exploring western New York.
If you enjoy biking, running, canoeing, white water rafting or wine tasting, RoamingBuffaloes may be right for you.
There is a small annual fee to join, but it opens up the door to meet new people and join dozens of activities each year.
Roaming Buffaloes founder Jeff Empric said, "We have one girl that has been relocated from Argentina and she said this is the best thing that has ever happened to her."
In addition to the wide range in activities to join, the membership also gets you a discount at outdoor stores like EMS and Campus Wheelworks on Elmwood in Buffalo.
Joining is easy. You'll just need to register with your name, e-mail and password, followed by paying annual dues on PayPal.
Empric said, "The core goal is to bring people in western New York together to show them what is available to do in western New York."
So if you're looking to become more active and want to meet others with similar interests as you, then you may want to think about joining RoamingBuffaloes.
