ATTICA, N.Y. (WIVB) - State Police arrested two women they say were trying to smuggle drugs into the Attica Correctional Facility by using balloon packs.
On December 1, 36-year-old Yomarie Cosme of Rochester was charged with third degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and first degree promoting prison contraband. Troopers say Cosme tried to smuggle multiple balloon packages of heroin and marijuana to an inmate.
On the same day, troopers arrested 40-year-old Jawana Jackson of Queens. Police say they found three balloon packs of suboxone tablets during an inmate visitation. She was charged with first degree promoting prison contraband and fifth degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Both women were taken to the Wyoming County Jail and will appear in court at a later date.
