BUFFALO, NY (RELEASE) - On Thursday, July 5, the “CBS Buzz Tour” will visit Buffalo -- the day after the tour officially launches from Boston during CBS’s live broadcast of the “Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular.”
CBS reality star Alex Boylan (winner of the second season of “The Amazing Race”) will join the CBS star-branded and mobile studio-equipped “CBS Buzz Tour” bus in Buffalo, bringing activities and giveaways as a thank-you to the loyal fans who continue to make CBS America’s Most-Watched Network. Alex will also engage viewers from anywhere in the U.S. from Buffalo and beyond with “Inside Buzz” CBS.com webisodes, blogs and social media contests and posts.
In Buffalo on July 5, Alex Boylan and the "CBS Buzz Tour" bus will be at Templeton Landing (2 Templeton Terrace) from 5pm – 8pm in affiliation with News 4 WIVB-TV.
Covering 15,000 miles and 60 markets in 60 days through Aug. 31, the “CBS Buzz Tour” ( #cbsbuzz ) will go straight to the fans, providing CBS experiences unique to each market. Alex Boylan and, in many markets, Burton Roberts (“Survivor”) will lead an array of in-person fan activities, including contests, giveaways and the opportunity to be digitally inserted into cast photos of several CBS series, which can be shared on social media sites. Among the contests are social challenges that will encourage local fans to interact with the Buzz Tour bus on its route across the U.S. through photo submissions, trivia contests and more. .
Fans can also follow the fun from anywhere, thanks to companion on-the-road “Inside Buzz” webisodes, social media posts and contests. The “CBS Buzz Tour”-related schedules and content – including an interactive map with video and slide shows of each stop and links to corresponding social accounts – will be accessible via www.cbs.com/buzz .
“It will be awesome to be on the front lines getting to interact with and say thanks to Americans all across this great country,” said Alex Boylan. “The fact that CBS is making the effort to give back to its fans shows the passion and loyalty it has for them. I'm extremely proud to be part of this effort.”
In 2006, Burton Roberts and Alex Boylan founded Around the World Productions, for which they have created, produced and, at times, hosted many award-winning web and multi-platform programs, such as CBS’s “Around the World for Free,” the Rachael Ray Show’s “Rach to the Rescue,” the Boy Scouts of America’s “Tales from the Trail,” the interactive series “Missions in Action” and hundreds of destination content web pieces for the Travel Channel and Lonely Planet.
In 2002, Alex Boylan was on the winning team on CBS’s hit reality television series, “The Amazing Race 2.” Since then, Boylan has hosted numerous television shows, including the popular PBS series “At the Chef’s Table,” the Health Corner DVD series “What’s Cooking with Alex” and the informative pet series “Animal Attractions.” Boylan has also created and produced the DVD surfing documentaries “Dropping In: Panama” and “Dropping In: El Salvador.”
