Steve Trotter & Lori Martin 1995

NIAGARA FALLS, NY (WIVB) - Steve Trotter and Lori Martin fell into the record books on June 18, 1995, when they became the first man-woman team to go over the Falls in a barrel successfully.

Trotter's luck was also very good back in 1986 when he managed to survive the plunge by himself.

Once was definitely not enough for the Florida bartender and daredevil.

In August,Trotter returned to the area to retrieve his high-tech barrel from authorities and to apologize to the men and women who risked their lives rescuing the amateur stunt man.

Trotter and Martin spent several days in jail for their stunt.

Trotter was fined 5-thousand dollars.
