NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (WIVB) - Tourists have had many reactions as news of Nik Wallenda's efforts to walk over Niagara Falls began to come out.
Reaction came swiftly as word spread that the daredevil's tightrope walk had been approved.
Nicole Mortimer of Webster, NY said, "I think that it's incredible. I've seen a documentary on people doing this before and it's scary to see, but they have very good balance and it will be very exciting to see someone do this."
Travis Canfield of North Augusta, South Carolina added, "That's a long way to go. It's along way to walk not on a tightrope, much less on a tightrope."
People that we spoke with even agonized a bit on just how the walk might be accomplished.
"It's interesting being that it's so dangerous and everything that you've seen and heard in the past about everything. But it will be neat to see," said Mary Sawyer of Tampa, Florida.
"I think that he's crazy. I really do. One full step and he's done. I don't want to watch him die. I'm going to pass on that opportunity. I'm quite sure that I'll read about it though," added Marion Carrano of South Beach, New York.
